Kenny Mehler was the song writer, lyricist and a founding member of the band Fivewise.(2000-2005) All though the band enjoyed a relatively short life span, Fivewise managed to sell a staggering 30,000 units independently without the benefit of any consistent radio airplay. In the spring of 2005, the band decided to take a break from touring and Kenny found himself in the small town of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Fivewise was on hiatus and with some free time on his hands Mehler decided to stay for awhile and attempt some much needed song writing. After nearly a year in the Yucatan and two hurricanes later, Kenny was now armed with a pile of songs, a fresh outlook on life as well as a new approach to his music career. Mehler's catchy blend of folk, soul and reggae rock are considered the chief ingredients in his sound which comes across best in a live setting capturing his energetic personality and expression. To Mehler's surprise, his new solo album entitled "NOW" is already buzzing with anticipation and the momentum builds even before the actual release date has been announced. Containing 10 brand new tunes, "NOW" is said to be his best work to date and has the potential to really push him into the spotlight.
