Necessity proved to be the mother of invention for this arrangement. A fledgling group of handbell ringers were tasked to present a musical work in celebration of World Communion Sunday…observed annually around the world on the first Sunday in October. Unable to find a suitable piece, Matt combined “Let Us Break Bread Together” and “One Bread, One Body” to create this medley for handbell quartet with piano accompaniment.

The work was created during Matt’s 30+ year career as Director of Music within the church world. He often composed or arranged for the handbell choirs he directed.
